Why I Don’t Do “$190 Photo Deals” (And What You Actually Get in a $495 Session With Me)
You’ve probably seen ads for low-priced portrait offers — something like $190 for a “luxury session” and a framed photo “worth hundreds.” It sounds like a great deal, especially if you’re thinking about updating your family portraits or getting something special done.
So why don’t I offer those kinds of deals?
This isn’t about criticising how others run their studios. But it is about being transparent — both with how I work and what you can expect from me if you book a session.
The Low Price, High Pressure Model
These offers are designed to get you into the studio with a small upfront cost. The session might go smoothly, but the real business model shows up after the shoot.
That’s when you’re invited to a viewing session and shown dozens of carefully presented images — often set to music, in a slideshow format. You’ll be reminded that one framed image is included… but if you want more, that’s where the pressure starts.
Digital files and extras are usually priced in bundled packages that can climb into the thousands. And the sales session is designed to be emotional — creating urgency and making it difficult to walk away with just the one photo you came in for.
My Approach Is Completely Different
I don’t do high-pressure sales. At all.
When you book a session with me, everything is clearly laid out upfront. You’ll know exactly what’s included and what the costs are before we even begin. There are no hidden fees, no surprises, and no pressure to buy more than you want.
Here’s what you get for $495:
A relaxed, guided studio portrait session
A private online gallery you can view in your own time, without anyone watching over your shoulder
Five fully retouched, high-resolution digital images you choose yourself
The option to buy extra images — if you want to — for just $50 each
That’s it. No packages in the thousands. No emotional slideshow pitch. No deadlines or sales meetings. Just calm, clear photography with straightforward pricing.
Why It Matters
Most people don’t want to feel trapped in a sales process after their shoot. They just want beautiful, meaningful portraits — without stress, pressure, or a hard sell.
I built my studio around that belief.
I’d rather give you five portraits you genuinely love, with the freedom to add more if you choose to, than put you in a situation where you feel cornered. I want you to walk away from the experience feeling good — not second-guessing what just happened.
If that sounds more your speed, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to walk you through the process so you know exactly what to expect. No pressure — just honest, high-quality photography.
